Curebound Cancer Challenge — Event Recap

On August 2, 2025, more than 3,000 cyclists, runners, walkers, spin class riders, and volunteers came together at UC San Diego’s RIMAC Field in La Jolla for the Curebound Cancer Challenge. The event, which was formerly known as Padres Pedal the Cause, raised an incredible 3.3 million dollars to support cancer research at six leading local institutions.

Leucadia Cyclery was proud to serve as the main repair sponsor for the event. From the moment the first riders arrived until the last participant crossed the finish line, our team made sure bikes were safe, tuned, and ready to roll. We provided on-the-spot repairs, gear adjustments, and encouragement to help every rider complete their challenge.

The funds raised will support groundbreaking research at UC San Diego, Rady Children’s Hospital, the Salk Institute, Sanford Burnham Prebys, La Jolla Institute for Immunology, and Scripps Research. This research includes new clinical trials, prevention efforts, and innovative studies designed to accelerate progress toward cancer cures.

For everyone at Leucadia Cyclery, this event was about more than fixing bikes. It was about supporting a cause that affects families everywhere. We believe in using our skills to give back to the community, and the Curebound Cancer Challenge was a perfect way to do just that.

Thank you to all the riders, volunteers, and donors who made this event such a success. We are honored to have played a small part in such a powerful day, and we look forward to being back next year to keep the wheels turning for a cure.

See you next year. We’ll be back to keep the wheels turning for a cure.
